Ardith Estelle was born November 13, 1929, to Ole and Mable Eike in Wildrose, ND. She attended a country school and graduated from high school in Ray, ND. She attended NDSU where she was a member of the Alpha Gamma Delta Sorority. Ardith returned to Ray where she and Duane Hoehn were married November 26, 1949. They lived in Ray, raising two daughters, Terryl and Connie, until 1964 when they moved to West Fargo. Duane died in June,1996.
Ardith was an active member of Faith Lutheran Church and several civic organizations. Her love of music led her to teach private piano lessons in her home for many years and to share her beautiful voice as a choir member and soloist. Her love of people and an eye for style prompted her to start working at Herbergers (formerly deLendrecies) and Petite Sophisticate.
For the past 14 years, Ardith shared a special relationship with George Wyum. Their love and companionship brought them great happiness whether they were singing, playing cribbage, traveling or socializing with their many friends at Taco Tuesday. Ardith also traveled extensively with girlfriends known as the “Fab Four”. Her greatest joy was her family. She was especially thankful and proud of each of them and loved sharing in their lives.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to John Ladwig, MD, the caregivers at Home Instead and the staff at Sheyenne Crossings for the love, patience and care extended to Ardith.
Ardith is survived by her daughters Terryl (Jack) Briggs, New Brighton, MN, Connie Erickson (Fargo), grandchildren: Amy Briggs, Sara Sorenson, Karen (Jeff) Ropel, Shannon (Jay) Ysteboe and Joe (Heather) Erickson, great-grandchildren Joe and Charlie Ysteboe, Stella and Sawyer Sorenson, Allison and Peyton Ropel and Ainzley and Quincy Erickson, and her special friend and companion, George Wyum.
