Valerie McConnell

Val McConnell, 60, Casselton, ND passed away on Monday, Dec. 9, 2019 at Ecumen Evergreens of Fargo.

Valerie Ann Gades was born on November 11, 1959 in Rockford, Illinois to Henry and Evelyn (Kluver) Gades. She moved with the family to Blaine, MN at a young age where she attended school and graduated from high school. On July 19, 1986 she married Dan McConnell at the Arthur United Methodist Church in Arthur, ND. They lived in both Amenia, ND and Casselton, ND where Val worked as a CNA and various other jobs throughout the community. She also worked as a homemaker, taking care of their children.

Val enjoyed reading, crocheting, Facebook games and playing pull tabs.

She was preceded in death by her parents and infant daughter, Crystal.

Val is survived by her husband, Dan of Casselton; children, Scott McConnell of Amenia, ND, Alisha McConnell of Casselton and Jamie McConnell of Fargo; sisters, Teresa (Mike) Marjama of Ham Lake, MN and Patricia Bruggeman of Florida and her nieces and nephews.

Memorials are preferred to the American Heart Association.

Funeral: Friday, Dec. 13, 2019 at 10:30 AM at West Funeral Home Chapel, West Fargo, ND with visitation one hour prior.

Final Resting Place: Casselton Cemetery.
