Thomas Kramer, age 91, of Harwood, ND, died Monday, March 21, 2023, at Essentia Health, Fargo, ND.
Tom was born September 15, 1931, in Bejou, Minnesota; the son of Henry and Tillie (Haats) Kramer. He grew up and attended school in Bejou and farmed with his dad. He enlisted in the US Navy and served from May 8, 1951, until April 22, 1955.
On March 31, 1956, Tom and Donna Ross were united in marriage at Gospel Tabernacle (now Northview Church) in Fargo. They have lived in Fargo, ND and Harwood, ND during their 67 years of marriage. Tom worked for Wilson Truck Line, Fargo Tire, and OK Tire, having served as the manager of the retread shop. He still continued working part-time at OK Tire until October 27, 2012. He retired from tires... three times!
Tom enjoyed camping, church picnics in the backyard, working in his shop, and spending time with his family. He was a member of the Harwood American Legion, the Fargo VFW Post #762, and the Disabled American Veterans.
He is survived by his wife Donna, two daughters Debra Gahner, Fargo, ND, Diane (Ken) Frohling, Webster, SD; six grandchildren: Rebecca (Raymond) Wanzek, Chad (Cara) Mulfinger, Travis Gahner, Stanley (Misty) Johnson, Roberta (Josh) Olson, Nicole (Shannon) Fiedler; thirteen great-grandchildren: Zach, Abby, Luke, Jake, Melissa, Amanda, Tony, Maggie, A.J., Connor, Slade, Miles and Ian; and 3 great-great-grandchildren: Willow, Ember, and Rebecca. Also, by four brothers, Alvin (Arlene), Harlyn, Douglas (Joanie), and Larry (Eyde); four sisters: Sharon (Roger) Brandt, Betty (Mike) Gore, Linda Omara, and Glenda Jones; brother-in-laws Jerry Matson and Allen (Patty) Ross; and many nieces and nephews.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents Henry and Tillie; brothers Edwin, Selmer and David, sisters Gladys, Helen and Marie; his in-laws Roy and Gladys Ross, brother-in-law Bill Omara, sister-in-law Deb Kramer, son-in-law Bill Johnson; and his tractor-riding companion Duane Ross.
Funeral Service: Monday, March 27, 2023, at 2:00 PM in Northview Church, Fargo, ND, with Visitation held one hour prior to his service.
Interment: Fargo National Cemetery with Military Honors, Friday, May 19, 2023 at 1 pm
