Sharon Lynne (Faleide) Henshel - 73

Born September 25th, 1946 to Adolph and Hulda (Lynne) Faleide and grew up on family farm in rural Maddock, ND. Sharon graduated from Benson County Agricultural Training School (BCATS) High School in 1964. After that she attended college in Wahpeton, ND and studied accounting.  She left North Dakota in 1966 with friends and moved to Fresno, CA and Denver, CO. She met Larry Henshel in Denver. They moved to Fort Walton Beach, FL and were married in 1971. Sharon and Larry lived in Florida while Larry was stationed in Pensacola for the Air Force.  They lived in Santa Rosa, CA for a while before eventually moving to Chicago to raise a family. Sharon and Larry had two children, Adam and Amy.  Sharon was a stay-at-home mother volunteering at her kids’ school and as Boy Scout and Girl Scout leader.  She was also a dog-mom to a very special Westie named Maggie.  The family lived in Chicago until Larry died from Melanoma Cancer in 1988.  After his death, Sharon moved with her kids to Fargo to live near her family. 

Sharon went back to school and earned her Bachelor in Social Work and Masters in Counseling from MSUM. She worked as a counselor in mental health and addiction at various agencies in Fargo-Moorhead.  She has been counseling in her own agency until just prior to her death.  Her passion was helping people through the toughest times in their lives.  She found her greatest joy in the faces of her three grandchildren, Gabriel (14), Lily (12), and Lincoln (10).

Sharon is survived by her children Adam Henshel, Amy (Jeremy) Sieling; grandchildren Gabriel Sieling, Lily and Lincoln Henshel; siblings Alpha (Bill) Roeszler, Don (Judeen) Faleide, Pat Pranke, Lanny (Lisa) Faleide, and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by husband Larry, her parents Adolph and Hulda, brother Mayo Faleide, brother-in-law Steve Pranke.

Sharon died on March 3rd, 2020 at Sanford Hospital in Fargo from post-surgery complications.  She died peacefully with her children by her side.  

A Celebration of Life will be held at Best Western Plus Kelly Inn in Fargo on Sunday March 15th, visitation 1-4 pm with Memory Sharing at 2:00 pm.
