Ronald Solberg

Ronald Louis Solberg, 84, beloved husband, stepfather, grandfather and great-grandfather went to be with the Lord on Monday, January 10, 2022.

Ronald was born on July 1, 1937 in Devils Lake, ND. Ronald lived a good and generous life. He graduated from Fargo Central High School. He selflessly served his country for 4 years in the United States Air Force. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 38 years, Jeanette Solberg. Over the years, they hosted countless “weekends at the lake” in their Minnesota cabin for their friends and family. We will never forget bouncing on the inner tubes, fishing off the dock and having fun during the 4th of July boat parades.

His love for his stepchildren, grandchildren and great-grandchildren was evident to us all. He worked for many years at Northern States Power in Fargo, ND and eventually retired in Tucson, AZ. When he wasn’t working or spending time with his family, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, black powder gun-shooting, woodworking, training his dogs and making things for his loved ones. He had every kind of tool imaginable. Later in life, his unshakable faith in Jesus and love for the Bible were a big part of almost all of his conversations. These are some of the many memories we will always cherish about him.

Ronald is survived by 3 step-children, Erlynne Rogers of Fargo, ND, Wally (Kelly) Rogers of Portland, OR, and Sue (Brian) Patnode of Ramsey, MN; 9 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. 

Celebration of Life: 10a.m. Saturday, March 12, 2022, at West Funeral Home in West Fargo, ND.

Lunch and Fellowship:  Immediately following the service.

His ashes will be spread privately on a later date in one of his favorite hunting places.
