Ronald “Scooter” Edward LaCoe, 66, died on Sunday November 29th, 2020 at the VA Hospital in Fargo ND.
Ron was born October 26th, 1954 to Lloyd and Frieda LaCoe in El Cajon, CA. He spent much of his young life in California, Minnesota, and Colorado and later enlisted in the Army. The Army brought him to Germany and back again. Upon his return, he settled in West Fargo, ND in 1976.
Ron worked for the State Highway Department for 15 or so years. He was a business owner for 40+ years.
Ron had four children – Vince Dulance, Jessie (David) James, Cody LaCoe, and Derrick LaCoe (Ashley Crouse). Ron married Kathy Hagemeister on December 19th, 1986. Ron also has five grandchildren, Blaine, Alex, and Cole Dulance, and Lucas and Carter James.
Ron’s siblings include, Jeannie Hutchinson, Paula Svincek, Sharon Harris, Ellen Harris, Ryan Fischer.

Driving around looking at parking lots
Loved going to Hockey games
Loved to shoot the sh** with anyone and everyone
The Great Escape: Ronny loved to escape from all hospitals on his scooter. His greatest achievement was busting out of the VA Hospital to ride his scooter to Pizza Hut, little did he know his nurse was hot on his heels and wrangled him back to the VA.

Loved to tinker and work on projects
Ron’s number one priority was his children, his wife and Chicklit; whom he loved with all his heart.
Survived by his wife, children, siblings, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and his close cousin Jim.
Proceeded in death by his parents and grandparents, Ernie and Mary Kimberlin.
The family would like to thank the Fargo VA Hospital, Essentia Health, and DaVita Dialysis for their wonderful care over the years; Sanford Home Health Care, specifically Chelsea for her loving care; and Bethany on University and Sanford Health for their wonderful care this past year for Ron.
