Roger Vining

Roger J. Vining, 82, of West Fargo, passed away Tuesday, January 1, 2019, at Sanford Hospital-West.

Roger John Vining was born to Frances (O’Bleness) and Earl A. Vining on the hottest day of record- July 6, 1936.  He grew up on the family farm northwest of Casselton.  Attended country school, District 62, and graduated from Casselton High School.  Roger served in the North Dakota Air National Guard and farmed his whole life.  He married Beatrice Hoffman February 25, 1961 and they farmed until retiring in 1985 moving to Fargo and in 2006 to West Fargo.

Roger was preceded in death by his parents; brother: Lorry; nieces: Jane Vining Fitzpatrick and Sherrie Holt Lien and her husband, Larry.

Survivors include his wife:  Bea;  sisters-in-law:  Norma Holte and Harriet Vining;  nieces and nephews:  Renee (Dennis) Fowler,  Deb Vining, Craig (Anita) Nelson,  Scott Nelson,  Mark Nelson,  Pam (Gary Johnson) Nelson,  David (Wayne Sander) Hoffman;  great-nephews:  Mike (Amy) Ulmer- their children,  Kenley & Gracyn,  Chris Nelson, and Nick Nelson;  great-niece:  Shelley (David) Parkhouse- their children, Abbie & Hunter.

Memorial Service:  4 p.m.  Saturday, January 5, 2019, at West Funeral Home Chapel in West Fargo.
