Rita (Jewell) Henningsen

Rita Kay Henningsen, 72, Fargo, ND passed away Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at her home.

   Rita was born May 3, 1948 in Ashland, Ohio where she grew up and graduated from Madison High School in Mansfield, Ohio in 1966.  Her parents were Raymond and Beulah Jewell.

   Rita married Roger Henningsen in Fullerton, ND on July 27, 1979.  After marriage, they lived in Ashley, ND, and Ashland, Ohio, before moving to Fargo in 1985.  Rita worked for a number of years for Scherling Photography and Anda Construction.

   Rita’s hobbies and interests included crossword puzzles, bingo and other games, paint-by-number art, bird watching, , raising dogs, and Elvis music.

   Rita is survived by her husband Roger, three children: Tia Liebhart, Jeffrey Steagall and Lisa Steagall, five grandchildren: Elizabeth and Dylan Sartwell, Jackson Steagall, Rebekah and David Nathan Liebhart.  Her surviving siblings are Emily Castelucci, and John and Larry Landis.

   Rita was preceded in death by her parents as well as Raymond Landis and brother David Landis.

   Due to Covid-19 concerns, a private memorial service will be held on Monday, January 25, 2021 at 10:00 AM at West Funeral Home, West Fargo, ND.

   In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial gifts be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital in honor of Rita.
