Richard Samson

   Richard C. Samson, 85, of West Fargo, passed away Monday, November 11, 2019, at Sanford Health in Fargo surrounded by his family.

   Richard Charles Samson was born March 19, 1934, in Pierre, SD, the son of Henry and Nina (Lobben) Samson.  He attended country school there until the 4^th grade when the family moved to West Fargo.  Richard then graduated from West Fargo High School.  He entered the US Army. Richard married De’Vonne Moen on July 17, 1953 in Moorhead, MN.  Following discharge from the Army, Richard was employed at the West Fargo Stock Yards, worked as a salesman and was a finish carpenter for his son for over 20 years. After retiring, spent time in his shop crafting benches, specialty pieces for Rick’s construction company, also making urns and memorial crosses.

   Richard was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars of West Fargo, enjoyed bingo, golf, looking for and selling golf balls.

   Left to share in his memory are wife:  De’Vonne; children:  Lynn (Bruce) Ramlo of West Fargo,  Rick (Sandi) Samson of Fargo; Kim Jameson of Sheldon, ND and Tommy Samson of Fargo;  11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; brother-in-law:  Daryll Rued of West Fargo;  sister-in-law: Pat Samson of West Fargo; a number of nieces and nephews.

   He was preceded in death by: parents; son-in-law: Drew Jameson; brother: Duke Samson and two sisters: Joyce (Jack) Jerikovsky and  Shirley Rued.

Memorial Service:  10 a.m.  Friday, November 15, 2019, at Bethel Church in Fargo.

Visitation:  An hour prior to the service in the church.

Burial:  Fargo National Cemetery,  rural Harwood, ND
