Phyllis "Phyllie" Thompson

   Phyllis Marie Thompson was born on May 27, 1947 in Sheldon, ND to Eldon and Amanda Anderson.  At the age of 3, Phyllis's mom, Amanda passed away.  A few years later a beautiful lady, Eunice became mom.  We all know her as Grandma Eunie.  Phyllis graduated in 1965 from Sheldon High School.  In the spring of 1966, Phyllis graduated from New York Hairdressing Academy.  Phyllis married Leonard Thompson on August 26, 1966.

   Phyllis and Leonard, decided to reside in West Fargo, ND, where they raised their two daughters, Trina and Jenny.  Phyllis’s career involved working as a hairdresser, professionally, as well as doing family members hair for many occasions, over the years.  Phyllis and her best friend, Cheryl Tendeland had many colorful hairdressing events.  For 29 years she was known to be the familiar face at Dakota Clinic, as a frontline receptionist or as many would say the white-haired lady behind desk.  Phyllis retired in 2007.

   Phyllis loved many things: spending time with her family, taking care of her daughters, playing with her 2 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren, dancing, cooking and baking.  Phyllis was known for her chocolate revel bars and molasse crack top cookies.  She enjoyed doing many craft projects.  Phyllis was a social person with a vast number of friends.  Good times were enjoyed in the old neighbor with the Olson’s, Larsons, Brekkes and Tendelands.  Phyllis enjoyed many social events and times with many close friends at the West Fargo V.F.W., Including her best friend, Mrs. O.  She had a beautiful smile and positive attitude that affected many lives.

   Phyllis passed away Thursday June 3, 2021, at Eventide Sheyenne Crossing under the care of Ethos Hospice.  We want to thank Ethos Hospice for their amazing care of our dear Phyllie.

   She is survived by her husband, Leo Thompson, West Fargo, ND; daughter, Trina (Dave) Thompson, West Fargo, ND; daughter, Jenny (Kevin) Thompson, Fargo, ND; two granddaughters, Annora (Zack) Emerick, Aiken, SC; Kierra (Bruce) Hendriksen, West Fargo, ND; three great-grandchildren, Danielle, Eleanor and Revan; mother, Eunice Anderson, Fargo, ND; sisters, Betty (Arlyn) Strand, Nome, ND; Donna (Al) Armbrust, Larimore, ND; brothers,  Larry (Pam) Anderson, West Fargo, ND; Randy (Patty) Anderson, Embden, ND; brother and sister-in-law, Jerome and Debbie Thompson, Englevale, ND; and several nieces and nephews.

   She is preceded in death by her parents, Eldon Anderson, Amanda Anderson; brother, Brian Anderson; grandparents, Myron and Annie Anderson; in-laws Roy and Evie Thompson; and brother-in-law, Dale Thompson.

   Visitation: Wednesday, June 9, 2021 from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m. in West Funeral Home, West Fargo.

   Memorial Service: Wednesday, June 9, 2021 at 2:30 p.m. in West Funeral Home, West Fargo.

   Private Interment: Helendale Lutheran Cemetery, Helendale Township, ND.
