Patsy Ellefson Obituary

Patsy Ellefson, 83, Fargo, ND, formerly Argusville, ND, died on Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2021 at the Halstad (MN) Living Center.

Patsy May Harris Berglund Ellefson was born on March 9, 1937 to Paul and Florence (Payne) Harris in Argusville, ND. She graduated from Argusville High School and Interstate Business College. She worked at Northern School Supply, Gate City Savings and Loan, Gate City Insurance Agency, Metropolitan Federal Bank, Northwestern Bank and American Federal Bank all located in Fargo. She married Richard (Dick) N. Berglund on May 26, 1962. They lived in Fargo, ND and had a hobby farm near Ashby, MN. They enjoyed their time at the farm so much with close friends and family. Dick passed away in September of 1994. In April of 1997 she married Richard Ellefson and retired from the bank. They moved to Argusville, ND to live in the home where she was born and raised. She always said “it is so good to be back home!”  They eventually moved to Fargo. She was active in her church, Argusville Congregational United Church of Christ, serving on the church council and Ladies Aid. She also enjoyed working on the election board. In recent years she loved spending time with her family, especially her great grandchildren.

She is survived by a daughter, Karmell (Philip-“her favorite son-in-law”) Hogenson of Moorhead, MN; grandson, Andrew (Jordanne) Hogenson of Ulen, MN; great grandchildren, Wyatt, Adalina, Beau and Cordell Hogenson; her sister-in-law, Kleo Harris of Castle Pines, CO; many nieces and nephews and the Ellefson family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Richard (Dick) Berglund and second husband, Richard Ellefson; her brother, Ted Harris; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Homer (Barbara) Berglund, Donna (Verne) Pladson and Carol (Benjamin) Allen.

She loved life and people, had a great sense of humor, and always tried to find the positive side of a situation. Her family and friends meant so much to her. She will be missed so much.

A special thank you to the amazing staff at Halstad Living Center who also became her family over the past couple of years.
