Orville W Kautz, 85 years of age, Mesa AZ, passed away at home on June 29th,2021 following a short 6-week period of Small Cell Lung Cancer, with his wife by his side.
Orville was born at New Leipzig, ND. to William and Martha Kautz on May 2nd, 1936. He married Sandy Hoel in 1959. On October 23rd, 1991, he married Holly Johnson. That same year they moved to Mesa, AZ and resided there until his passing. Orville had his own painting business in West Fargo for many years. He also worked for Lutheran Brotherhood as an insurance agent for several years. After moving to AZ, he had his own building and remodeling business and was very busy up until a couple of months before his death. Orville was very meticulous and organized with his home, work, shop, vehicle, and everything had its place. He was also a jokester, liked to visit and was a favorite uncle to many of his nieces and nephews.
Orville served his country proudly in the Army from 1955 to 1957, during the Korean War. He was a very proud Veteran. Orville was lucky to participate in an honor flight to Washington, DC. Orville and Holly enjoyed a trip to Alaska. While there, they visited friends and did some fishing. They also enjoyed a trip to Puerto Rico.
Orville was preceded in death by his parents, brothers-in-law Elmer Kramer, Harvey Miller, and mother-in-law Viola Johnson.
Orville is survived by his wife Holly, sons Tom and Dale (Carolyn) both of Colorado Springs, CO, Paul (Lori) Kautz, West Fargo ND, and step-daughter Amy (Piet) Van der Meer of Jefferson, Iowa. Grandchildren Cody Kautz, Clint (Kayla) Kautz, Alex (Amber) Kautz, Kristin (Shay) Wibbels, Marcelo Alarcon, and Veronica Van der Meer . Sisters Winnifred Kramer, Sylvia Miller, Doris (Norm) Gronwold, Janice (Deverde) Nicklaus, father-in-law Jack Johnson, and sisters-in-law Julie Roeder, Vickey Bennett, and brother-in-law Joe Johnson. Four great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Death takes the body.
God takes the soul.

Memorial Service: 2 pm Saturday, August 7, 2021, West Funeral Home, 321 Sheyenne St. in West Fargo.
Visitation: An hour prior
