Michele Jensen

   Michele “Micky” Jensen, 68 of West Fargo, North Dakota passed away Thursday, February 28, 2019 surrounded by family at home under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley.

   Micky was born September 23, 1950 to Darial and Dorothy Determan in Estherville, Iowa.  Micky grew up on the family farm with her three siblings.  She graduated from Terrill High School (Iowa) in 1968 where she exceeded in track, music and other activities.

   After graduation, Micky went to college at the University of South Dakota in Vermillion, South Dakota.  At USD, she met Bob Jensen at a freshman orientation dance.  Upon her graduation in 1972 with a degree in Elementary Education, they moved to Sioux Falls, South Dakota where they both worked. Micky and Bob were united in marriage August 28, 1971.  This union was blessed with four children - Karl, Krissy, Sarah, and Becky. 

   In 1978, Micky and Bob moved to West Fargo, North Dakota where they raised their children.  As the children got into school, she went to work for the West Fargo Public School District as a para with Early Childhood pre-school special needs children.  She enjoyed working with these students for nearly 20 plus years. She always had sense of pride when seeing some of her former students as young adults.

   Micky enjoyed supporting her children in their many activities.  She went to many basketball, soccer, and track events throughout the years.  Micky also enjoyed cooking, baking, reading, sewing and crafts.  She was part of the book club, bunko group, preschool group, recipe group and craft group.

   Micky and Bob enjoyed the many trips they took together to various places such as England, Germany, the Caribbea Islands, Mexico, Hawaii and various areas of the U.S.

   Micky is survived by her husband, Bob, of 47 years.  Their children and families - Karl (Lynn) Jensen of Fargo, Krissy (Derek) Pfeifer of Bismarck, Sarah Jensen of Inver Grover Heights, MN and Becky (Kyle) Fischer of Bartlett, IL.  Grandchildren - Brady Pfeifer, Trent Pfeifer and GiGi Pfeifer.  Her parents Darial and Dorthy Determan of Milford, IA and brothers and sister Dave (Kathy) Determan of Spirit Lake, IA, Patty Determan of Milford, IA, and Mike (Kay) Determan of Spencer, IA.  Brother-in-laws Randy (Eileen) Jensen of Tool, Tx, Tim Seely of Smithfield, Virginia and sister-in-law Kathy (Craig) Donner of Colorado Springs, CO.  Numerous aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces and cousins.

   Micky was preceded in death by her brother-in-law Marc Guthrie, sister-in-law Karen Jensen, sister-in-law Ilene Seely, mother-in-law Kathleen Jensen, father-in-law Kenneth Jensen.

In lieu of flowers, we request memorials be directed to Hospice of the Red River Valley, Micky Jensen Memorial.

Visitation: Sunday, March 3, 2019 from 5 until 7 PM at the West Funeral Home, West Fargo.

Funeral service: will be Monday, March 4, 2019 at 1:30 PM at the West Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior to the service.
