Marn L. Odden, 66, Fargo, ND passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 9, 2024 at Sanford Hospice House, Fargo, surrounded by her loving family.
Marn Louise Longbella was born on October 28, 1957 in Staples, MN to Charles Richard and June Louise (Wagner) Longbella. Marn grew up and attended school in Staples, graduating from Staple High School. During her school years, she was active in the Methodist church and developed a talent in music, choir and theater. She pursued her passion for nutrition, earning a master’s degree from North Dakota State University Fargo in Dietetics and Nutrition. She dedicated her career to educating and helping others as a registered dietitian nutritionist at Meritcare Hospital in Fargo.
Marn married Ron Odden and together they welcomed three children into the world: Chelsea in 1982, Mathew in 1985 and Jamie in 1989. Though Marn and Ron’s paths later separated, her love for her children remained unwavering.
In addition to her professional pursuit, Marn found joy in knitting, sewing, music, playing the piano, reading, and playing mahjong.
Marn’s legacy lives on through her children Chelsea (Matthew) Tradewell, Mathew Odden and Jamie Odden. She was anticipating the arrival of her first grandchild in August of this year. Marn is also survived by her siblings, Chris Longbella, Lani Roberts and Chad Longbella.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and June, leaving behind cherished memories and an impact on all who knew her.
