Marlys Miller

   Marlys Miller, 85, of West Fargo, ND, passed away Tuesday, September 28, 2021, at Essentia  Health in Fargo with her family by her side. 

   Marlys was born on October 2, 1935, in Sykeston, ND, the daughter of Peter and Kathryn (Kieffer) Friezen.  She graduated from Sykeston High School, moved to Fargo and attended Business College.  Marlys worked in the office at Tennefos Construction where she met her future husband, Zacheus Miller.  They were married on May 26, 1958.  She later worked for the Department of Agriculture in Fargo. 

   She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and the VFW Auxiliary in West Fargo.  Marlys was an avid bowler and card player.  She enjoyed watching Jeopardy, various sports on TV and putting jigsaw puzzles together.  Her most enjoyment came from spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  

   Left to cherish her memory is her two daughters and one son:  Gayle Braun of Spearfish, SD, Todd Miller of Grand Forks and Susan (Scott) Johnson of Rose Hill, KS; seven grandchildren:  Matthew Braun, Katie Braun, Chris (Nicole) Miller, Brianna (Keith) Robb, Bryan Miller, Erika (Corey) Kinchion, and Justin (Chasidey) Johnson;  seven great-grandchildren:  McKenna, Brantley, Eli, Aspyn, Breckyn, Arlo and Kiera;   brothers:  Gerald (Evelyn) Friezen of Brookings, SD, and Alan (Beth) Friezen of Fargo; sister-in-law:  Laura  Friezen of Cathay, ND; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. 

   Marlys was preceded in death by her parents:  Peter and Kathryn Friezen; husband:  Zacheus; infant daughter: Mary; brother:  Roland Friezen and a daughter-in-law:  Yvonne (Swenson) Miller. 

Rosary:  1:30 pm Saturday, October 2, 2021

Vigil Service:  2 pm  Saturday, October 2, 2021, at West Funeral Home in West Fargo 

Visitation: An hour before the Vigil 

Interment:  Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery-North,  in Fargo, ND
