Marc Jarmin

   Marc Jarmin, 60, of West Fargo, died Wednesday, October 30^th, 2019 in Alexandria, MN.

   Marc Lynn Jarmin was born August 8, 1959 in Minot, North Dakota to James and Helen (Clark) Jarmin. He spent many childhood summers at his uncle Alfred Foss' farm near Rolette, ND, where his Grandma Marie Clark, who also lived there, was a great influence on him. 

   Marc was a hard worker, getting his first job at Porter Brothers by age 13.  He was quick to learn and enjoyed working with his hands.  He learned welding, woodburning, and was involved in FFA.

   In 1982 he married Cindy Lou Nielsen in Minot at St. Mark's Lutheran church.  In addition to a wonderful wife, Marc also gained a son, Josh. While in Minot they also brought Jessica  and Jared into the world. After several years in Minot, Marc began his career with Midland Garage Door Manufacturing and they eventually made their home in the Fargo area, where twin daughters Jaime and Justine were born.

   After long days at work on the road or in the shop, what Marc loved most was spending time with his family, whether it was fishing or going to sporting events with kids and grandkids, or simply getting together for meals. Family visits with Marc tended to last longer due to his insistence on one more plate of food, one more joke, or one more scene of a movie. His jovial laugh could be heard throughout the house anytime he was around.  He was a thoughtful man who always took the time to listen without judgment, show endless patience, and offer a gentle hug or a pat on the head.

   Many things will spark memories of Marc, including jingling keys, Sunday morning football, talk radio, country music oldies on a Saturday morning, and Carhartt coveralls.

   He is survived by his wife Cindy, sons Josh and Jared Jarmin, both of West Fargo, daughters Jessica (Jonathan) Blomquist of Moorhead, Jaime Jarmin (Deniz Comez) of St. Paul, Justine Jarmin of Wadena, MN, granddaughters Rachel Pavlat and Eden Jarmin, sisters Mary O'Clair of Rapid City, Candyce Grosz and Melanie Bakke, both of Minot, and brother Chris (Jackie) Grosz of Minot, uncle Randy (Suzanne) Jarmin of Stanley, aunt Judy Jarmin of Minot, as well as many nieces and nephews.

   Marc was preceded in death by his father James Jarmin, mother Helen Grosz, stepfather Alvin Grosz, and father-in-law LeRoy Nielsen.

Funeral:  2 p.m. Monday, November 4, 2019, at West Funeral Home in West Fargo.

Visitation:  5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, November 3, in the funeral home.

Prayer Service:  7 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home.
