Luverne Pearson

Luverne Pearson, 91, West Fargo, ND passed away on Friday, May 19, 2023 surrounded by family.

Luverne Lucille Bruse was born on June 16, 1931 to Henry & Lucy (Cornelius) Bruse on their farm in Marion, ND. She attended country school and later the Marion school. She was united in marriage to Walter Zierke on October 1948 in Alice, ND. She loved living on the farm and raising her children. She and Walter later divorced.

On February 2, 1974, Luverne married Gene Pearson in Fargo.  They lived in Casselton where she worked various jobs the last being at NDSU in the catering department which she loved. In 1990 she retired, and they moved to Dickinson. In 2000, they moved back to Fargo.

Her many hobbies included embroidering, word find, reading, puzzles and quilting. Luverne also loved collecting owls and angels. She made many quilts for her children, grandchildren and for her church.

She is survived by a daughter Cynthia Jorgenson; three sons, Jeff Zierke, David Zierke and Robert (Janet) Zierke all of Fargo; 7 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; two brothers, , Harvey (Kathy) Bruse and Terry Bruse both of Fargo; sister in-law Donna Bruse of Horace; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband; son Richard; brothers, Clarence and Rueben

Bruse; and sisters, Helen (Milton) Hauer, Mable (Jerome) Verlinden.

Memorials preferred to the Herby Cemetery and or St. John Cemetery in Embden, ND.

Funeral: Friday, May 26, 2023 at 1 PM at St. Paul’s Free Lutheran Church, Fargo with visitation one hour prior.

Burial: Herby Lutheran Cemetery, rural Argusville.
