Lonnie Huseby, 73, West Fargo, died in his home on March 12, 2020, under the care of his family and Hospice of the Red River Valley.
Lonnie, son of Bennie and Ardella (Regstad) Huseby, was born in Fargo, ND on August 5, 1946 and grew up in Balfour, ND, where he attended school, graduating from Balfour High School in 1964. He then attended North Dakota State College of Science in Wahpeton and earned an associate’s degree in electrical technology.
On July 2, 1966, he married Ardis Braaten in Balfour, and together they raised a family in Velva, ND while he farmed the family farm near Balfour, and worked for 40 years at Central Power. Lonnie enjoyed spending time camping and fishing with family and friends, in addition to attending vintage car and threshermen’s shows.
Lonnie and Ardis moved to West Fargo in 2007 and he retired in January, 2008. They enjoyed a few winters together in Arizona.
Throughout his life, Lonnie was resourceful, persistent, and a handy-man, who enjoyed woodworking and crafting things for his grandkids. He also enjoyed bluegrass and polka music.
Lonnie is survived by his wife of 53 years, Ardis; 3 sons, Brec Huseby, Minneapolis, Brad (Donna) Huseby, West Fargo, and Lane (Jessica) Huseby, Fargo; 9 grandchildren, Alexis, Brandon, Isabel, Bryan, Derek, Jacob, MaKena, Bennett, and Bergan; and 2 great-grandchildren, Brynlee and Brielle.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Mona Flaten; and a brother, Jody Huseby.
Memorials are preferred to Hospice of the Red River Valley.
Visitation: Sunday, March 15, 2020 from 5 - 6 pm at West Funeral Home, West Fargo.
Prayer Service: Sunday, March 15, 2020 at 6 pm at West Funeral Home, West Fargo.
Memorial Service: Monday, March 16, 2020 at 2 pm at West Funeral Home Chapel, West Fargo.
Burial: Horace Lutheran Cemetery, Horace, ND at a later date.
