June (Hestbeck) Hagemeister

June Hagemeister, 90, West Fargo, ND died on Saturday, Oct. 10, 2020 at Sheyenne Crossings in West Fargo.

June Arlene Hestbeck was born June 23, 1930 to Jake and Bertha (Andersen) Hestbeck and raised on the family farm near Gardner, ND. She was a Gardner High School graduate. June was united in marriage to Leo Hagemeister on January 25, 1951 in Fargo ND. They lived in Valdosta GA and Victorville, CA while Leo was in the Air force. Leo and June lived near Ayr and in Buffalo, ND before moving to Argusville. June was employed for 18 years as cafeteria manager for St. John’s Hospital in Fargo. In 2002, Leo and June moved to Fargo.

June and Leo spent many years at the lakes, including Rush Lake and enjoyed their time fishing and visiting with friends and family. One of June’s favorite past time was playing games with family and friends, and especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. June spent many hours playing cards with her special friends at Sheyenne Commons. When not playing games she could be found at her special puzzle board working on a jigsaw puzzle. June also spent lots of time in the kitchen sharing her love for baking with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

June is survived by her two children, Dean (Joyce) Hagemeister, West Fargo, ND and Denise (Marlin) Melander, Sioux Falls, SD; son-in-law, Joe Pfeifer, Springfield, VA; grandchildren, Brandon (Angie) Hagemeister, Kerry (Carl) Sad, Bobbi Hagemeister, Jennifer (Deepak) Keshwani, Sam Melander, Andrew Pfeifer; great-grandchildren, Emma Hagemeister, Aislyn Sad, Aidan Hagemeister, Jordan (Beulah) Johnson, Andrew Bodin; great great grandchild, Immanuel Johnson; brother, Jake (Adeline) Hestbeck; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leo; and a daughter, Donna.

Family and friends are invited to say a final goodbye to June with a visitation October 14 from 5 to 7 pm. The family will have a private graveside service at a later date.
