James "Jim" Kautzman

   James (Jim) Kautzman, 77, of West Fargo, ND, made his way to Heaven on Wednesday, April 3, 2024, at SMP Health—St. Catherine South under Hospice Care.

   Jim was born August 11, 1946 to Nick and Anna (Neumiller) Kautzman on the family farm south of Carrington, ND. He was baptized at home on the 29th day of January 1947. His education started and ended in Carrington where he lived until moving out to California in 1966 where he started his job at North American Aviator and made his home with his brother Wes for several years.

   Jim returned to West Fargo where he worked for W.W. Wallwork, Chesley, and K&K Construction before retiring in 2015.

   In 1974, he married the love of his life Ramona (Berger) in Hettinger, ND. They started their life together in Valley City and moved to West Fargo in 1979. Jim and Ramona were inseparable. They were world travelers for many years visiting Ireland, Greece, Egypt, Australia, amongst many other places. Ramona passed away October 15, 2012. That is the day that a huge part of Jim also left this world, it was very devastating for him. He was lonely and found it hard to cope without her.

   Jim enjoyed being with his family and chatting with his friends at the local taverns while enjoying a Bud and doing his favorite pastime of playing the pull tab machines.

   He is survived by his four sisters, Lydia (Don) Carr, Carrington, ND, Ann Marie Myers, Oregon, Arlene (Bill) Arterberry, Shasta Lake, CA, and Connie Brown, Carrington, ND; his four brothers, Wesley (Francis), Carson City, NV, John (Gladys) West Fargo, ND, Paul, West Fargo, ND, and Robert (Valarie), Williams, AZ; he is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

   He is preceded in death by his wife, Ramona; parents, Nick and Anna Kautzman; sister, Marcella Garrett, and brothers Edward and Alvin.

   Graveside Service: Saturday, April 27, 2024, at 1:00 p.m., in Holy Cross Cemetery South, Fargo, ND.

   Immediately following the service there will be a gathering in the South room at the West Fargo VFW, 444 Sheyenne St. Please join us if you are able. A light lunch will be provided.
