Ilyssa Dittmer Obituary

Ilyssa Dittmer, 17, of Moorhead MN, died Saturday, February 29, 2020.

Ilyssa was born October 8, 2002 in Fargo, ND to Michael and Tara (Gilbertson) Dittmer.

Growing up, Ilyssa always loved to play dress up and would often be found running around playing with her sister, Livi, and the other neighborhood girls. She loved theatre and performed in many roles for the FM Community Theatre, her schools or with the neighborhood crew.

As a teenager, Ilyssa attended Moorhead Public Schools and was currently a junior at RRALC. She enjoyed spending time with her many friends, local and around the world, shopping, playing board games or watching cheesy horror flicks.  Ilyssa enjoyed watching her reality TV shows and was a beautiful make-up artist, something she loved to create on herself or others. For her 16th birthday she was gifted a sweet fluff ball of a puppy, Talia, who she loved, doted on and carried with her everywhere she went. Ilyssa was very active on social media, live streaming and building fandom communities where she helped to support her LGBT brothers and sisters from all over the world. We love her and miss her infinitely.

Ilyssa is survived by her parents, Mike Dittmer (Ashly Hafdahl) and Tara Dittmer (Sheldon Monson); siblings, Jacob Dittmer, Alivia Dittmer, and Charlie Monson; step-siblings Mark Hafdahl and Lyra Monson; grandparents, Leigh Gilbertson, Sue & Paul Amicucci, Lonny Barnum (Lori Baum), Patty & Larry Monson; great-grandmother, Ardell Bell; aunts & uncles, Karen (Scott) Blommer, Matt (Bijan) Etemad-Gilbertson, Missy (Robert) Neil, Chase Gilbertson, Spencer Barnum, Annie (Adam) Barnum, Damian Monson, Kyleigh (Dave) Evans, Lorie (Randy) Paulsrud, Julie (Jerry) Ronglie, and Sherrie (Scott) Miller; her best friend, Phoenix Walseth; and many cousins, and great-aunts & uncles.

She was preceded in death by her infant sister, Morgan Dittmer; grandparents, David & Edna Dittmer; and uncle, Dave Dittmer.
