Harold Fee Obituary

Harold Fee, 88, of Harwood, ND, died peacefully at his home, surrounded by family, on Sunday, October 4, 2020.

Harold was born April 28, 1932 in Harwood, ND the son of William and Pauline (Nyseter) Fee. He enlisted in the United States Army as a member of the Battalion Communication Section in October of 1952.  Harold received recognition and achievement of Sergeant for his leadership, vast technical knowledge and critical thinking skills. After his discharge from the United States Army, he returned to Harwood where he married the love of his life, Rebecca Lunder, on December 3, 1960. Together they raised two vibrant sons, Dean and Duane Fee.

Harold was an incredibly talented and devoted carpenter throughout his life. During his career he worked for Knutson Brothers, Rudy Leonard Construction, and Don Engebretson Construction. He took great pride in his craft and was often recruited for custom woodworking as a result of his mastery skill and quality of work. Harold created lifelong friendships with his coworkers and shared countless heartfelt and joyful stories over the years of the talented people he worked with and mentored. Harold also enjoyed the yearly project of assisting his wife, Rebecca, with constructing scenery and props for the themed family reunions, which also meant dressing the part.

Harold was an avid outdoorsman and spent free time fishing for Walleye, scouting for fowl, or tracking big game. As a companion hobby, Harold became skilled at taxidermy and was commissioned for numerous mounts, the most interesting being an Alligator gar. He enjoyed sharing his love of the outdoors with his family whether it be taking his wife, sons, and/or grandchildren fishing and hunting or teaching them how to create their own tackle and supplies.

Harold was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend and will be missed by all who knew him.

Harold is survived by his wife, Rebecca (Lunder) Fee, son, Dean Fee, grandchildren, Crys (Kelsey) Marshall, Marisa Hansen, and great grandchildren, Brielle, Evelyn, Brayden, Bailey.

Harold was preceded in death by his parents, William and Pauline Fee, brother, Paul Fee, and son, Duane Fee.
