Eileen Schossow, 77, formerly of Leonard, ND, passed away peacefully Friday, February 21, 2020, at her home in Elk River, MN.
Eileen Ann Schossow (Winters) was born in Forest Mills, IA on April 24,1942 to Marvin and Rosena Winters. Eileen was raised on her family’s farm in rural Frankville and later Waukon, IA. Eileen graduated in 1960 from Postville High School. She married Fred J. Schossow on June 2nd, 1962 in Frankville, IA. Eileen and Fred moved to Minneapolis, where Eileen worked in the insurance industry until her retirement in 1982.
Eileen and Fred raised their children: SanDee and Dan (Fred) in Maple Grove MN until Fred’s retirement 1994. They moved Leonard, ND in 1996 and enjoyed retirement in their at home business, Puttsin Palace, creating beautiful homemade crafts for all to enjoy.
After Fred’s passing in 2011, Eileen moved to Elk River, Minnesota to be near her children and grandchildren: SanDee Fleek (Mark) and Frederick Daniel Schossow (JoAnn); grandchildren: Christopher Fleek (Stephanie), Carissa Thompson (Jeff) and Aurora Schossow; great Grandchildren: Braden, Riley and Emma Fleek, Ava and Parker Thompson, brother: Richard Winters (Noreen); sisters-in-law: Ina Kempel and Mary Winters; many nieces and nephews.
Eileen is preceded in death by husband: Frederick J. Schossow; parents: Marvin and Rosena Winters; brothers: Leroy Winters (Lavonne), Donald Winters and Hartley Latterman (Virginia); brother in law: Ferd Kempel; many nieces and nephews.
Visitation: Friday February 28, 2020 from 1:00-2:00 pm, funeral service to follow at St. Peter Lutheran Church, rural Leonard North Dakota.
Burial: Watson Cemetery, Leonard, North Dakota.
Lunch will be served following burial at St. Peter Lutheran Church.
Funeral Service: 2 p.m. Friday, February 28, 2020, at St. Peter Lutheran Church rural Leonard.
Visitation: an hour prior to the service in the church
Burial: Watson Cemetery, Leonard, ND.
