Cheryl Palya

Cheryl Elaine Palya, 55, passed away peacefully Tuesday, January 21st, 2020 in Nashville, TN with her loved ones at her side.  She was born December 15th, 1964 to George and Elaine Palya (Kasprick) in Grand Forks, ND where she was raised with her 3 brothers and 2 sisters. 

Cheryl moved to Fargo and married Kirk Wetch in 1987.  They had two daughters in 1989 and 1991.  She was ambitious and a hard worker.  She held numerous jobs in the life insurance and automotive industries, as well as volunteer positions throughout her life.  

Cheryl loved country music and made a home for herself in Nashville, TN where she met many close friends.  She recently joined Cornerstone Church in Nashville where she attended a life group and was newly baptized.  Cheryl loved the outdoors, her dog Doc Holidae, the Minnesota Vikings, and golf.  She was a good friend to many and she will forever be missed.

Cheryl is preceded in death by her older brother Frankie, her beloved cousin Deanna and her aunt Darlene Dahl, as well as her Mother Elaine.  She is survived by her loving father George; daughters Cassandra (Brandon) Schmidt, and Kaley Wetch; her siblings, Dave (Nona) Palya, Karen (Rod) Opp, Lori (Mick) Siems, Tom (Marita) Palya, Mike Palya, and numerous nieces and nephews, as well as her close friends Brenda Beaver, Lori Kopishke, and Holly Nance.

Services to be held at West Funeral Home, West Fargo on Saturday, February 22nd, 2020.  Visitation starting at 10:00 with Service at 11:00, and a fellowship lunch to follow.  Please join us to celebrate Cheryl's life and the many lives she touched.  If you are so inclined, we invite you to wear your cowboy boots or Vikings gear (or both, as Cheryl sometimes did) in her honor.
