Byron Cameron Bogardus

Byron “Cameron” Bogardus, 82, West Fargo, ND died on Monday, September 24, 2018 at Villa Maria, Fargo.

Byron Cameron Bogardus was born on September 7, 1936 in Britton, SD to Byron F. and Jennie (Seth) Bogardus.  Cam grew up and attended school in Cogswell, ND, graduating in 1956.  Cam married Georgia Erickson in Cogswell in 1958.  Cam worked at a filling station as an auto mechanic in Ellendale, ND.  In 1961, the couple moved to Fargo, then to West Fargo while working for Muscatell Chevrolet as a mechanic for 18 years.  Cam then worked for LTP Enterprises until he retired in 2005.

Cameron had a passion for life and the outdoors.  He enjoyed numerous activities including fishing, hunting, working on cars, time at his lake cabin on Leaf Lake, admiring classic cars, and even yard work.  Most of all, he loved spending time with his family including but not limited to his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and their pets including his own.  He was quite the character and practical joker and loved to play card and board games with his family and friends.  He always kept himself busy and would even tinker around with inventing or reproducing custom parts, tools, or any contraption that he deemed necessary to make life easier or help someone out.  In addition, he was a member of Valley Christian Church in Moorhead, MN.  He was a great man who led his life by being a good example and passed on his vast knowledge to all he could.  He will be dearly missed by all.

Cameron is survived by his wife Georgia of 60 years, West Fargo, ND; children: Perry (Liz) Bogardus, Fargo, ND, Vandi (Bob) Snyder, of West Fargo, ND, Todd (Elaine) Bogardus, West Fargo, ND, and Christopher Bogardus, of Cheyenne, WY; grandchildren: Robert (Desiree) Snyder Jr., Lindsay Bogardus, Jeremy Snyder, Jarrod (Christina) Bogardus, Amanda (John) Miller, Samantha Bogardus, Sara Bogardus, Ashley Bogardus, Caleb Bogardus, Roscoe Boatman, and Beth Boatman; great-grandchildren: Jordan Hanson, Andrew Snyder, and Raelee Miller.

Cameron was preceded in death by his parents Byron F. and Jennie Bogardus, two brothers: Floyd and Henry Bogardus, and three great-grandchildren: Maecy Snyder, Kinley Snyder, and Joey Snyder. 

Visitation: Saturday, September 29, 2018 from 10 am until 11 am at West Funeral Home, West Fargo.

Funeral Service: Saturday, September 29, 2018 at 11 am at West Funeral Home, West Fargo.

Burial: Saturday, September 29, 2018 at 1:30 pm at Holy Cross North Cemetery, Fargo.
