Beverly D. Johnson was called up to heaven and reunited with her sons Jay and Jerad on July 21, 2020. She was surrounded by her loving family and with the care of Sanford Hospice.
Bev was born on November 3, 1946 to Lester and Katherine (Nordtvedt) Holbrook in Chicago, IL. Bev spent her childhood in Seattle, WA - then as a teenager moved with her family to Mayville, ND. Bev spent the rest of her life in North Dakota enjoying the pleasures of having family close by.
Bev met Bruce Johnson in the spring of 1969. It was love at first sight for both of them. They were married on October 16, 1971. Through 51 years of love, they raised a family that grew to be quite large. Enjoying all of the celebrations, birthdays, holidays and family gatherings.
Bev’s grandchildren held a very special place in her heart. Enjoying every minute she spent with them. She enjoyed the lake life, the farm, helping family and sitting on the deck reading a good love story. Enjoying all that Mother Nature had to offer. She helped her mother raise her brothers and sisters. Which established her mission in life caring for others - especially family.
Bev was preceded in death by her sons Jay and Jerad, father, mother, grandparents, sisters, brothers and many other family members.
She leaves behind her husband Bruce; children: Jesse (Diana) Johnson, Dawn (Tim) Scott, Tasha (Eric) Grindberg and daughter in-law Melinda Johnson. Grandchildren: Lacey, Josh, Guy, Stormy, Cheyanne, Royce, Kaitlyn, Tanner, Destiny, Josie, Brendan, Darian, Sarah, Cody, Ashley, Cameron, Emma, Chris, Ethan, Sheridan and Hailey; a sister, Bonnie Olson and 26 great grandchildren.
Visitation: Monday, July 27, 2020 from 5 to 7 PM with a prayer service at 7 PM at West Funeral Home, West Fargo, ND.
Funeral: Tuesday, July 28 at 10:30 AM at Maple Sheyenne Lutheran Church, rural Harwood with visitation one hour prior.
