Barbara Moritz Obituary

Barbara Jeanne Moritz passed away Tuesday May 26, 2020 at Sanford Medical Center in Fargo, ND due to Covid 19.

Barbara was born July 20, 1944 in Madelia, MN. She lived with her parents, Jacob and Marion Ries, and three sisters in Paynesville, MN. Barbara married James Moritz on May 7, 1966; together they had 5 children. Barbara started a company with her close friend called Beadwork by Us, as she was interested in the Native American Culture and took pride in her native crafts. Barbara was strong in her faith and instilled these virtues in her children. Her faith and strong-will gave her the strength to battle numerous health issues. She adored and took pride in her 9 grandchildren. She will be remembered for her witty personality, her ‘Happy Birthday’ singing messages, strong faith and the unconditional love she had for her family.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents Jacob and Marion Ries, and by James Moritz.

She is survived by her children  Renae (Ross) Megarry, Kent (Rachel) Moritz, Jamie Moritz, Bryce (Heather) Moritz and Ashley (Brett) Johnson;  her grandchildren James and Elizabeth Megarry, Jaxon Moritz, Bella, Cora, Maya, and Elijah Moritz, Sylas and River Johnson; also her three sisters Sharon Weber, Jean Lahr and MaryAnn Westbrock.

A private graveside service will be held on Saturday May 30, 2020 at 1pm at Holy Cross Cemetery - South, in Fargo, followed by a private Celebration of Life at Rheault Farm.
