August Stitz

   August J. Stitz, 92, Fargo, ND passed away on Sunday, November 7, 2021 at Bethany on University, Fargo, ND.

   August Junior Stitz was born June 10, 1929 in Lotta, TX to August and Carrie (Vovel) Stitz.  August was in the US Air Force from 1947-1951.  He married Joyce Gums in 1953 and they had six children, LeRoy, Joann, Johnny, Janell, Geraldine, and Robert.  After returning from the Air Force he worked at Amurs in 1954 then the West Fargo meat plant from 1960-1989.  He married Judy Rentschler in 1972.

   August is survived by his wife Judy, Fargo, ND; sons: LeRoy (Nancy), of Owatonna, MN, and Robert Stitz, of Fargo, ND; daughters: Janell (Joel) Mastroianna and Geraldine Lewis, both of Fargo, ND; grandchildren: Megan Reid, Matthew (Liz) Stitzmeyer, Andrea and Nicholas Lewis; great-grandchildren: Jovante, Vivian, Annabelle, and Luella; brothers: Ervin Stitz, and Daniel Stachlowski, both of Washington.

   August was preceded in death by his parents, son Johnny, daughter Joann; grandchild Michael, great-grandchildren McKenzie and Anthony, sisters Cealina Klatt and Ruby Poppy, and son-in-law Kenneth Lewis.

Visitation: Saturday, June 25, 2022 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at First Free Methodist Church, Fargo, ND.

Memorial Service: Saturday, June 25, 2022 at 11:30 AM at First Free Methodist Church, Fargo, ND.
