Andrea Lepird Obituary

Andrea Lepird, age 83, of Mesa, AZ, formerly of West Fargo, ND, died on Thursday, February 4, 2021, in her home under the care of her family and Hospice. She fought a courageous battle with COVID-19 and surrendered into the arms of her Savior, knowing that she was surrounded by her loving family.

Andrea Walburg was born January 26, 1938 in Fargo, ND to Andrew and Viola (Beilke) Walburg. She grew up in West Fargo where she attended school. She was baptized, confirmed, and married at Faith Lutheran Church where her parents were charter members. Following graduation, she was a bookkeeper for several companies before working in that capacity for Lepird Drywall and Decorating. Andrea married her high school sweetheart, Larry Lepird, on December 21, 1957, and the couple was married for 63 years. They raised their family in West Fargo before enjoying a 25-year retirement in Mesa.

Andrea had a great love of music and was involved with music her entire life. She was a member of the Sweet Adelines for several years in the 1960’s. She was a Sunday school accompanist and a member of the bell choir at Faith Lutheran. She sang in the choir for 20 years at Bethlehem Lutheran Church of Mesa where she was an active member. She was an avid bridge player and played in several bridge groups over the years where she made many lifelong friends and was known to share a joke or two.

Andrea’s greatest love was her family. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. The family enjoyed spending weekends together at Lake Lizzie each summer where Andrea had Sunday dinner ready for whoever dropped in. She was young at heart, great fun, and dependable as the day was long. She will be greatly missed.

Andrea was preceded in death by her parents; infant brother Orville; sister Mildred Keating, and granddaughter Amy Finstad. She leaves behind her husband; daughter Lorie (John) Finstad of Lisbon, ND; three sons, Jack (Gloria) of Tempe, AZ, Kurt (Shawna) and Matt (Jessica) both of West Fargo; 8 grandchildren, Jill (Jeromy) Krueger, Katie (Kyle) Geske, Anthony (Ashley) Finstad, Levi Lepird, Paige Johnson, Isaac, Sophia, and Anna Lepird; 7 great-grandchildren, Kaley, Reed, Luke, Brennon, Averie, Carson, and Novalene; sister Maxine Potter of Willmar, MN; brother-in-law Ray Fields of San Diego, CA, and many nieces and nephews.

Burial:    St. John Cemetery, Embden, ND on February 20, 2021, following a Family Funeral  held at West Funeral Home, West Fargo.

Memorial Service:    2 pm Saturday, May 15, 2021 in Faith Journey Lutheran Church, West Fargo, with Visitation held one hour prior to her service.
