Shirley Rott

Our beloved Shirley Rott, age 79 of Dent, MN peacefully passed away on Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at Essentia Hospital in Fargo, ND.

Shirley was born in Sisseton, SD on July 19^th 1938. Shirley met her love, Clifton Rott when she was 13 years old and married him on July 2^nd 1955. Together, the two of them laughed and loved for over 59 years raising five children: Sherry (Jeff), Clifford (Vicky), Gerald (Laura), Susan and Randy (Rita).  Shirley has nine grandchildren: Briana, Brandon, Lisa, Chad, Stacy, Jamie, Christi, Sarah & Kyle and nine great grandchildren. Shirley devoted her life to caring for her children and grandchildren working mostly in the home for the duration of her life.

Shirley was happiest spending time in the beautiful Minnesota lakes where she would watch birds, squirrels, feed barn cats and enjoy all of God’s little creatures. She was a lifelong reader, Louis Lamour classics being her favorite. Shirley also enjoyed crossword puzzles and a good game of solitaire.

Shirley is survived by her sister, Sharon and preceded in death by her parents, Florence and Stanley and her infant sister, Gail. Shirley is now by the side of her partner, friend, and beloved husband, Clifton who passed away on July 25, 2014. Shirley will be greatly missed by all her family and friends.
