Robert Kirby

Robert “Bob” R. Kirby, 72, West Fargo, ND died on Sunday, September 9, 2018 at Hawley, MN.

Robert Roy Kirby was born June 22, 1946 in Grafton, ND to Edward and Evelyn (Pribula) Kirby. The family moved to Fargo when Robert was four years old.

Robert married Beverly Shroyer on July 22, 1989. Robert worked for Smurfit Stone for 29 years and for Solid Comfort for 6 years, retiring in 2016. Robert left behind his wife of 29 years Beverly Kirby, of West Fargo, ND; four daughters: Dawn Kirby, of Fargo, ND, Melissa (Paul) Haugen, of Moorhead, MN, LaDonna Hanson (Dave Coon), of Dilworth, MN and Margie (Greg) Carlson, of Bismarck, ND; nine grandchildren: Rabecca (Jose) Garcia, of San Antonio, TX, James Chloupek, of Moorhead, MN, Amanda (Ryan) Veralrud, of Horace, ND, Rachel (Josh) Jardell, of Pensacola, FL, Justin Hanson, of West Fargo, ND, J.J. Zaun, of Cooperstown, ND, Shayla Zaun, of Sabin, MN, Denver Kirby, and Tyawna Kirby, of Fargo, ND; six great-grandchildren: JoJo Chloupek, Kayden Garcia, Carlos Garcia; Eden Veralrud, Hunter Veralrud, and Ryder Veralrud. Other survivors include his sister-in-law Sharon (Arlen) Kolb, of West Fargo, ND, brother-in-law Donald (Louella) Shroyer, of Crosby, ND, and many nieces and nephews.

Bob enjoyed spending time at Lee Lake during the summer and giving his grandchildren rides on the golf cart. His children, grandchildren and Great grandchildren were very important to him. He also enjoyed watching wrestling. Many people enjoyed talking to him He was a friendly, funny and loving man.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, brother Timothy Kirby, sister-in-law Maryann and brother-in-law Richard along with many aunts and uncles.

The family of Robert would like to thank Hospice of the Red River Valley for their care.

Memorial service: Friday, September 14, 2018 at 1 PM at West Funeral Home, West Fargo, ND with visitation one hour prior to the service.
