Mike Mattson

On January 19, 2019 Mike Mattson lost his five+ year battle to PSP (Progressive Supranuclear Palsy).

He was born on May 15, 1952 in North Dakota, the son of Roy and Alma Mattson. He graduated high school in West Fargo in 1970. Shortly after, he married his first love, Cindy Mattson. 

He spent 32 years working for UPS, but his favorite job was taking care of his three boys, Mark, Brian and Brad. 

After Cindy lost her battle to cancer in 2007, Mike later went on to marry Donna Mattson, his loving wife.  He is survived by Donna; sons Mark (Barbie), Brian (Jill) and Brad (Jamie); son and daughter by marriage JJ and Canda; families of brothers Leroy, Larry, and sister Sandy; 12 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. 

He was preceded in death by his late wife Cindy, parents Roy and Alma, sisters Dona and Shirley. 

He is greatly loved and will be missed by all.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations made to Hospice of the Red River Valley.

Visitation: Monday, January 21, 2019 from 6 to 7 PM at the West Funeral Home, West Fargo, ND. 

Prayer Service: Monday, January 21, 2019 at 7 PM at the West Funeral Home, West Fargo, ND.

Funeral Service: Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at 1 PM at Faith+Journey Lutheran Church 2nd Ave. Campus, West Fargo with visitation one hour prior to the service.

Burial: Maple Sheyenne Cemetery, rural Harwood, ND following the lunch at the church.
