Marlyn Moltumyr, 71, passed away on July 19th, 2018 at Sanford Hospital, after a short battle with pancreatic cancer.
Marlyn was born November 12, 1946, son of Osborne and Audrey Moltumyr. He grew up on his family's farm in Wolverton, MN. He graduated from Moorhead State University and received his nursing degree from St. Barnabas in Minneapolis, MN. He then served as an officer in the U.S. Army at Fort Dix as a pediatric nurse before starting his career working in ICU at the VA Hospital in Fargo, ND where he retired after 30 years of government service.
Marlyn liked the simple things in life; sports, history, reading, playing games but he lived for his family. His goofiness and giggle were contagious. His selflessness, class and ability to quietly touch the lives of his family & friends was extraordinary. He’ll be remembered as the best grandpa, dad and husband and a role model; humble, filled with integrity who encompassed the grace and goodness one hopes defines a person's character.
Marlyn is survived by his wife Susie Moltumyr, West Fargo, children; Lisa Moltumyr-Barth, St. Louis Park, Eric Moltumyr, Eden Prairie, Bobbiann (Benjie) Froemke, West Fargo, Tommy (Regina) Wetzstein, Meridian, MS, Shane (Emily) Wetzstein, Las Vegas, NV, beloved grandchildren; Alyssa and Arika Barth, Branson and Bailey Wetzstein, Maddox and Asher Wetzstein, brothers, double cousins and many nieces and nephews.
Marlyn was preceded in death by his mother, father and sister, Shirley (Don) Hjelle.
