Visitation Thursday night will not be held.

Any flowers order after 5 PM Thursday will likely not be deliverable to the school as there is no flower shop in Kindred.

Frank Walter Pearson Jr. was born Feb. 18, 1944 in Fargo, ND the oldest son to F. Walter and Grace (Williams) Pearson. He was later joined by his younger brother, J. Bruce. He grew up in Arthur, ND, graduating in 1962. He continued his education at UND where he was a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity and earned his bachelor’s degree in business. Frank married JoNelle Gordon of Grandin, ND on Sept. 16, 1967. They had two children, Stacy and Jim.

After College, he was first employed by International Harvester for almost three years and decided to move into banking. He took a position with Sargent County Bank in Gwinner, ND and later he moved to Kindred and began working for Kindred State Bank. Frank married Jane Bailey on May 11, 1985. At the Kindred State Bank, he served as Vice President, President and currently as Chairman of the Board. Never fully retiring, he enjoyed going to the bank on a regular basis, visiting with old friends and making new ones. He served on the Oxbow City Council for many years and fought (and won) numerous floods . He was a kind, generous, thoughtful man who shared his love of hunting, golf and The Fighting Sioux with many relatives, customers and friends.

His three grandchildren meant the world to him. He always enjoyed watching them play baseball, football, basketball, golf, running and water sports at the lake cabin on Pelican Lake. Following his brother’s death in 2011, he became a “second” father and mentor to his nephews, Baxter and Tyler.

Frank had a wonderful sense of humor and was known for his “twinkle” in his blue eyes. Frank passed away on Thursday, Dec. 20, 2018 at Sanford Broadway, Fargo, ND.

He is survived by his wife, Jane of Oxbow, ND; a daughter, Stacy of Fargo; a son Jim (Lori) of Oxbow; three grandchildren, Matthew, Carly and Jacob; and his hunting dog, Chumley. Frank was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Bruce.

Visitation: Thursday, Dec. 27, 2018 from 5 to 7 PM with a prayer service at 7 PM at West Funeral Home, West Fargo, ND.  cancelled due to weather

Funeral: Friday, Dec. 28 at 12 Noon at the Kindred High School, Kindred, ND with visitation one hour prior.

Burial: Lower Wild Rice Red River Cemetery, Hickson, ND.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Calvary United Methodist Church in Kindred or Hospice of the Red River Valley.
