David Billington Obituary

David J. Billington, age 55, of Fargo, ND, died Saturday, May 5, 2018, in his home of cancer.

David John Billington was born March 11, 1963, at Fargo ND, the son of James R. and Ann (Smith) Billington.  He attended school in Fargo, and moved to El Paso, Texas to live with his father.  David moved to California where he did electrical and refrigeration work.   He later “met a girl” and they moved to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania where they were married, but later divorced.   David’s health caused his return to Fargo where he lived until his death.

David enjoyed cooking, raising vegetables in his garden, and he also enjoyed his two dogs.  He was an avid golfer, he enjoyed fishing, and youth hockey of which he had been a member of the Northside Raiders traveling team.

David is survived by his mother, Ann (Larry Delamater) Billington, Fargo; his father Jim (Judith) Billington of San Antonio, Texas; a sister June (Brad) Potter, Mountain Springs, Texas; a nephew and two nieces,  Ryan, Kimberly & Morgan Potter; his paternal grandmother, Julia Dorothy Billington of Oakland, CA, and also three aunts and one uncle.

He was preceded in death by his other grandparents, one aunt and an uncle.

David’s family suggests memorials to the Fargo Park District Foundation, 701 Main Avenue, Fargo, ND 58103, to be used for Youth Golf & Hockey programs, or for the Edgewood Golf Course.

Services for David will be held at a later date.

Inurnment:  Riverside Mausoleum, Fargo, ND
