Dave Teets

Dave Teets, age 78, of West Fargo, formerly Minot, ND, died Tuesday, April 30, 2019 at New Perspective Senior Living, West Fargo.

David “Dave” Franklin Teets was born March 18, 1941 in Minot, the son of Jesse and Agnes (Samdahl) Teets.  He lived on a dairy farm near Logan, ND throughout most of his childhood years.  He loved the farm and forever told stories of his adventures there.  He graduated from Minot High School.  After high school he married Greta Uleberg on April 19,1963, and they made their home in Minot.   Throughout his working days he custom combining, delivered Hamm’s beer, and owned the Standard Oil service station until beginning a career in aviation in 1967.  After receiving his A&P mechanics and pilots license, he worked in aviation shops in Minot, Rugby and Grand Forks. Upon retiring from UND Aerospace Department of Aviation he eventually moved to West Fargo to be near his son.

He took his job as an aircraft mechanic very seriously and loved what he did. He was past president of the North Dakota Mechanics Association and was instrumental in founding what is now the Upper Midwest Aviation Symposium. Until this year when his health had declined, he never missed one symposium.  He passed this love of aviation onto his son and grandsons. Dave also loved hunting and fishing and being outdoors. Whenever he could he loved to take his son and grandsons on hunting or fishing adventures to the Badlands, Lake Sakakawea, and Little Churchill Lodge in Canada.  He was a member of the Minot Rifle and Pistol Club in the early 1970’s. Family and friends will always remember his humor and the stories he loved to tell.  We will all truly miss him, but we know he is finally “finer than a frog hair” again!

He is survived by his wife Greta, son Trent (JoAnn), grandchildren Brandon (fiance' Miranda), Benjamin (Kelsey), Bethany and great grandson, Easton; also his sister Darlene (Alan) Egeberg.    David was preceded in death by his parents.

PUBLIC VISITATION:   2pm-4pm Saturday, May 4, 2019 at The Grotto, 3233 45th St S, Fargo, ND 58103

A Private Funeral Service will be held for his family.
