Carolyn (Hart) Streifel

Carolyn Streifel, age 82 of West Fargo, ND, passed away on Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at Eventide in Fargo. 

Carolyn Dolphine Hart was born to Carl and Hattie (Fogelberg) Hart on October 2, 1936, at Valley City, ND.  In 1939, the family moved to Akeley, MN, on a farm just across the road from her grandparents.  She graduated from Akeley High School in 1954.  After graduation she worked doing housekeeping.  On April 26, 1960, Carolyn and August Pfingsten, Sr. were united in marriage and moved to Fargo, ND.  Carolyn worked as a cook in various restaurants in Fargo.  In 1976, she started working in the bakery department at NDSU where she later retired in 1999.

On June 15, 1984, she and Harold Streifel were united in marriage and made their home in West Fargo.  Carolyn and Harold loved to entertain.  Their home was always open to family and friends dropping in and hosting all the holidays.  Her passion was cooking, so if she knew relatives or friends were in town, there was an invitation for a meal.  She also enjoyed baking – and making those special treats only eaten at Christmas time, making sure to share with family and friends.

She is survived by her husband, Harold; daughters Ardith (Don) DuBord, Lois (Leon) Bylund; step-children; Darnel (Dave) Kartes, Cindy Munn (fiancé Dan Ramsey), Timothy and Duane Streifel; grandchildren Jennifer, Kayla, and Michael (Morgan) Bylund, James Henry, Amanda Munn; great-granddaughter Kaia Bylund; niece Victoria Beer; and two nephews, Gordon and Michael Hart.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Hattie Hart; brother, Louis Hart; and sister, Charlotte “Jean” McHenry. 

Funeral:  3PM Friday, November 16, 2018 in West Funeral Home Chapel, West Fargo, with Visitation held one hour prior to her service.

Burial:  Akeley Cemetery, Akeley, MN, on a later date.
