Outer Urn Containers, sometimes referred to as Urn Vaults, function to encase the urn and cremated remains for burial. These containers vary in structure and substance - some are made of concrete while others are made of plastic or a resin material. Most local cemeteries don't require them at this time, but some cemeteries such as those in the Grand Forks, ND area do require them. The containers can also serve as time capsule that will never be opened. Families are choosing to include their loved ones favorite things inside. These items may include a blanket, soda can, golf ball, flowers, pictures, notes from grandchildren, ornaments, slippers/shoes and along with other keepsake items.
