Marlene Elsie King passed away on Monday October 16, 2017.  She was the daughter of William and Elsie Reichert from Trotters ND.   She was born in Beach ND on 8/2/1936.  Marlene met Delbert King when she was a teenager at a dance in Page, ND.  They were married on 11/14/53.  The newlyweds settled in Arthur, ND where they raised 5 children, numerous animals and farmed.  Marlene drove the combine during harvest, she was a Master Gardener, excellent baker (especially her famous fried cinnamon rolls) and loved crocheting.  Her family will treasure her yearly homemade Christmas ornaments and the afghans she created for everyone.  She also loved puzzles, watching home videos, music and having her family around her.  She was a member of Rose Valley homemakers, St. Johns Lutheran Church, ALCW and booster club.  She also was a Sunday school teacher and a 4-H leader.  They regularly went dancing with friends and visited the casino.  In 1986 they moved to Mesa for the winters and loved going every year.  She had front row seats for every concert at Valley Del Oro.  Marlene loved basketball – every level and both genders.  Her favorite team was the Phoenix Suns and she never missed a game.

Preceded in death by her husband Delbert, parents, brothers Leo and George and sisters Maybelle and Lucille, sister-in-law Idabelle Reichert and grandson Michael Cremers.  Survived by: Colleen (Randy) Moen, Sharon Ray (Steve Smith) Sandy (Doug Cremers) Jeff (Rhonda) King, Melanie (Ron) Ringstad.  She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

Memorial service will be held at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Arthur at 11am on October 21st, 2017.
