I wanted to express my heartfelt condolences to the family of Leona. Almighty God is aware of your tremendous loss and He cares about you. (Psalm 34:18). He personally has a longing to undue all the pain and suffering that death has caused you. (Job 14:14-15) Many people today believe that death is natural and part of our daily lives. However the Bible specifically says that death is an “enemy” mentioned at 1 Corinthians 15:26 "And the last enemy, death, is to be brought to nothing." No one is ever ready or glad to have a loved one die, no matter how long they have lived. The Bible tell us at Ecclesiastes 3:11 that God put "eternity (desire to live for forever) in our hearts" not the desire to die. That is why according to Jesus' words found in John 5:28-29 there is going to be a resurrection (bringing back to life). At that time your tears of joy will replace your tears of pain as you embrace your loved one again. Besides God’s promises he also comforts us by moving people who care about us to give us words of encouragement that we need to hear to give us hope that is like an anchor to stabilize us through this difficult time.

What a life she had! I am so sorry for your loss. Leona left a great legacy and clearly touched many lives. May your loving memories comfort you and bring peace to your hearts.

I only met Alvin once, when I was 5, but he made quite an impression. I met Aunt Leona and uncle Vern once as well when I visited in 1984, wonderful people. I'm sorry I didn't know them better.

My deepest condolences.

Pastor Deb and family.. Our thoughts are with all of you at this difficult time. Losing a parent leaves a void but to have a loved one for so many years is indeed a blessing. We had a memorial for my dad on Wednesday in Kenmare. Saying good-bye was not easy but we celebrated his 90 years with a celebration of life. We know God holds all of us in the palm of His hand. Forever friends, the Andersons, Larry and Linda10
