Harriet Diede

   Harriet Diede, 83, of West Fargo, ND, passed away Monday, March 20, 2017, at Sanford Health in Fargo following a short illness.

   Harriet Diede was born November 24, 1933, in Mandan, ND, the daughter of Harry and Helen (Amundson) Chase.  She was raised and attended school in Fort Rice, ND.  Harriet then was employed as a housekeeper and nanny until her marriage to Edwin Diede January 19, 1957 in West Fargo.  The couple lived in Horace, ND until moving to West Fargo in 1961. Harriet was employed at MeritCare/Sanford Hospital in the environmental services department for 30 years, missing only 2 days of work. She retired in 2005. 

   She enjoyed bingo, working in her yard and around the house until just the last while.  Harriet will be remembered for her baking.  Niece Karen and Harriet were called upon for providing baked goods for family, friends and many other functions.  Above all, her greatest joys were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

   Grateful for having shared in her life are her children:  Mark of Fort Rice, ND,  Nancy (Jeff) Maag of Fargo,  Brenda (Tim) Dean of Sanborn, ND and Jim of West Fargo;  grandchildren:  Randi (Aaron) Schlenker,  Jacob (Lindsey) Fillbrandt,  Kristy Fillbrandt,  Jana (Jarod) Altringer, Brandie (Jason) Reames and Kendra (Matt) Hartigan;  12 great-grandchildren; sisters:  Bonnie Deering of Cambridge, MN and Peg (Thurman) Doty of Ham Lake, MN.

   She was preceded in death by her parents;  husband: Edwin; 2 brothers and 7 sisters;

Visitation:  5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, March 23, 2017 with a 7 p.m. Prayer Service at the West Funeral Home in West Fargo.

Funeral: 1 p.m. Friday, March 24, 2017, at Community Presbyterian Church in West Fargo.

Burial:   Sunset Memorial Gardens, Fargo, ND
