Donald Wheeler

    Don Wheeler, 79, of West Fargo, died Monday, October 23, 2017, at Sanford Palliative Care, surrounded by his family.

    He was born and raised in Carson, ND.  Don attended school at NDSSS in Wahpeton, ND, and studied appliance/refrigeration repair.  He married Margaret Dronen and were the parents of three children.  They resided in Kenmare, ND and later in West Fargo, ND.

   Don enjoyed his career with Montana Dakota Utilities in Kenmare, ND, but also enjoyed retiring to the Fargo area.  He was known for his friendliness, easy conversation, and was known to always volunteer to help others.  Don was involved with Child Evangelism Fellowship as a board member, served in AWANA clubs, and was a Kenmare City Council member.  He loved his family, taking adventurous camping vacations, and drinking coffee with friends. He loved spending time with his family, enjoyed attending church services, and had a strong faith in the Lord. 

   Don is survived by his children; Caroline (Randy) Schauer, David (Heather) Wheeler, and Laura (Todd) Jelinski.  Grandchildren are; Alexis, Amber, and Everett Schauer; Hannah, Jonathan, Sarah, and Benjamin Wheeler; and Joshua, Jonah, and Jacob Jelinski.  Other family members include brothers Jim (Pat) Wheeler and Robert (Grace) Wheeler.  Also brothers-in-law and sister-in-law George (Barbara) Dronen, Donald (Carol) Dronen and Darlene Harms, and many nieces and nephews. 

   He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Wheeler, mother, Irene Wentlandt (Wheeler) and his father Benjamin Wheeler.

   Family thanks the staff at Sheyenne Crossings Memory Care Unit for their loving care of our dad.  Also, we are grateful to the excellent Sanford staff on 7Main and Palliative Care Unit.

Visitation:  11 a.m. - 1 p.m. Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at Salem Evangelical Free Church in Moorhead.

Funeral Service:  1 p.m. Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at the church.

Burial:  Sunset Memorial Gardens, Fargo, ND
