He continued his education in Detroit Lakes, MN, earning two degrees, one in Auto body repair and the other in Technical Drafting.
After school, Dan worked at Steiger Tractor in Fargo from 1981 to 1986. He then was employed by Applied Engineering from 1986 to 1995. Dan found his true calling at Case New Holland from 1995 to the end of his active engineering career in December of 2015 because of an ongoing battle with cancer.
During Dan’s employment at Case New Holland, he traveled to Australia for corporate business and in 2016 received a patent shared with the partnership of others for an important component of the familiar red four-wheeled drive and QuadTrac tractors seen in farming operations around the world. Dan was very proud to be a member of the Case New Holland family in Fargo that helped change the future of agriculture on a national and global basis.
Dan was passionate about North Dakota History and was a member of the North Dakota Historical Society. He traveled throughout the state and visited the many historical sites. Dan also enjoyed collecting clocks.
