Zaydan Sandbeck, 5, of Dilworth, MN, passed away on Wednesday, November 27, 2024, at Sanford Medical Center in Fargo, ND.
Born May 5, 2019, in Fargo, ND, Zaydan, originally named Zayden Chaske Rebold, faced many challenges during his first year of life due to significant health issues before being diagnosed with Stickler’s Syndrome. However, after being placed in the care of his cousin, Jessica Sandbeck, on July 2, 2020, Zaydan’s resilience shone through. With countless therapy sessions, medical appointments, and the loving support of his family, he began to thrive, hitting milestone after milestone.
On December 29, 2021, Zaydan was officially adopted, becoming Zaydan Chance Sandbeck, with his beloved big brother Cruze by his side. Zaydan’s days were filled with joy, always sharing his love with those around him through his famous hugs, infectious smile, and sweet words of affection. His boundless energy and big heart made him a cherished member of the family. He became Cruze’s loyal sidekick, his Papa’s co-pilot on countless adventures, and his Mama’s precious boy—reminding all who knew him of the power of unconditional love.
A natural charmer, Zaydan was kind, polite, funny, smart, and always ready to lend a helping hand. Whether it was holding a door open or offering a handshake with a sincere “Pleasure to make your acquaintance,” Zaydan’s manners were beyond his years. He had a passion for music and would sing with enthusiasm, often creating his own unique renditions of songs. His love for dancing and his infectious spirit drew others in, leaving a lasting impression on everyone he met.
Zaydan was a true light in this world, embodying everything good and pure in a time when the world needs it most. His family’s lives were brighter with his presence, and his absence leaves a profound void.
Zaydan is survived by his mother, Jessica Sandbeck; papa, Travis Metheny; big brother, Cruze Suchla; grandparents, Brent and Deb Hartz, and Karen Rebold; step-sisters Kiara and Aliveia Rebold; great-grandmother, Ardis Stronstad; along with numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. His family is devastated by this loss and will forever carry his memory in their hearts.
The family extends a heartfelt thank you to the staff and community at Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton Elementary School for their incredible support during this difficult time.
