William Bartels

William "Bill" Bartels, age 71, of Fargo, ND, formerly St. Louis, Missouri, died Friday, June 24, 2022, in Touchmark at Harwood Groves, Fargo.

Bill was born in Granite City, Illinois on August 14, 1950 to Marilyn Carr and William D Bartels. He spent his early years living in the Philippines and attended Brent School. He returned to the states and attended Westminster College  and graduated from Southern Illinois University- Edwardsville. He worked for the National Geospatial Intelligence Agency until his retirement.

Bill was an excellent fly fisherman and an avid Cardinals Baseball fan. He loved to spend his falls hunting in North Dakota. He had a large dvd collection of old movies and held regular movie nights at Touchmark when he moved to ND.

Bill will be missed by his sisters Joan Bartels Wessel (Jerry) and Susan Bartels Rechter (Joseph), his brother David Carr Bartels (Sharon) and his nieces Martha Leidholm (Dwight), Louisa Takacs (Robert), Susan Wessel Baker, Elizabeth O’Neill (Michael) and nephew Willian Bartels (Alejandra).

AT FAMILY REQUEST, NO SERVICES WILL BE HELD.

Memorials are suggested to any Alzheimer's charity of the donor's choice in honor of Bill.
