Wesley Beilke, 93, of Fargo, ND (formerly Buffalo, ND), died peacefully on April 17, 2026 at Eventide Care Center surrounded by family.
Wesley “Wes” Ronald Beilke was born August 7, 1932, in Fargo, ND to Henry and Henrietta Beilke. He grew up on the family farm near Buffalo and attended country school. He later attended Buffalo High School where he graduated and met his soul-mate and future wife, Juanita Johnson. They married on September 6, 1952 in Buffalo Lutheran Church. They made their home on a farm one mile east of the original family farm for many years. Together, they operated a diversified farming operation that included raising feeder cattle. Farming and hard work were his passions. After Wesley’s retirement, they built their retirement home in Buffalo and lived there until Wesley moved into Assisted Living at Eventide in September 2022.
Wesley was active in the community and belonged to Buffalo Lutheran Church where he served on the council and also as president. He served as a council member and president of Maple Valley School board for years. Other causes he enjoyed and was involved with included serving on the Maple Valley Water Resources District for 24 years, the National Sunflower Association for 12 years, Buffalo Wildlife Club and was part owner and president of the Alice Farmers Elevator in Alice, ND.
Wesley was an avid card player and was always up for a challenging game of Pinochle. He and Juanita were in the founding group of the Friendship Card Club in Buffalo. One of his greatest enjoyments after moving to Buffalo was his morning coffee crew he met with daily to catch up. He spent many winters in Arizona where he enjoyed ATV riding with friends in the mountains. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and family time spent at their lake home in MN. After the passing of Juanita in May of 2006, he enjoyed company and companionship with special friend, Virginia Schobinger until the time of his passing.
He is survived by his two sons: Jeffrey Beilke (DeeAnn) and Bradley Beilke both of Buffalo; a daughter, Susan Prody (Monte) of Moorhead, MN; 5 grandchildren: Matthew Beilke, Jenna Beilke, Alex (Danielle) Beilke, Peyton Prody, Jack Prody, and 2 great granddaughters: Evelyn Beilke and Vivian Beilke.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Juanita; his siblings and their spouses: Clarence (Clare) Beilke, LaVerne (Jack) Wilcox, Burnell (Alta) Beilke, MarJean (Jack) Peterson and Rodney (Carol) Beilke.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff and caregivers at Eventide Fargo who lovingly cared for him in his final days.
