Wendy Elise Magnuson, 68, of Fargo, ND, died Monday, September 16, 2024, at Sanford Medical Center in Fargo, ND surrounded by her family.
Wendy Elise (McDonald) Magnuson was born February 23, 1956, in Jamestown, ND, to Dennis and Patricia (Hazelton) McDonald. She grew up and attended school in Jamestown and then West Fargo when the family moved in 1967. Wendy worked at the Donut Hole and Walmart before starting her own in-home daycare where she loved taking care of kids. Wendy married Lyle Magnuson in 1993. They made their home in Fargo, ND. Wendy was loved greatly by her family and all those to whom she provided daycare. Wendy continued a relationship with many of these daycare children long after they were grown. Wendy and Lyle opened their house to family who needed a place to live and those who loved to visit. They hosted Christmas Eve celebrations every year and always had a table full of holiday sweets! She was a kid at heart and loved to joke around and tease people. In her younger years she was a formidable bowler. She loved cooking, baking, the TV show Big Brother, buying stuff on QVC and Amazon, and was known for her large collection of bears. Following a long, hard battle with cancer, Wendy will be missed very much.
She is survived by her husband: Lyle Magnuson; children: Shannon (Jennifer) Roehrich, Travis Roehrich, Toby (Amy) Roehrich and their father Dennis, Keegan Kensmoe and his father Tracey, and Travis (Jessica) Magnuson; grandchildren: Alexia (Jacob) Kallis, Colton Roehrich, Bailey Roehrich, Tristen Roehrich, Caleb Roehrich, Parker Roehrich, Mason Roehrich, Kellen Magnuson, Cooper Magnuson; great-granddaughter: Kara Kallis; siblings: Denise Priewe, Craig (Nancy) McDonald, Melissa (John) Lorenz, Paul (Annetta) McDonald, Pam (Gary) Schatz, Rose (Mark) Beto; many nieces & nephews; and beloved pets Shasta and Tuker.
Wendy was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Karen, and three brothers Greg, Jeff, and Kevin.
