Wayne C. Iverson, 75, of Fargo, North Dakota, comfortably passed on January 22, 2026. Wayne was born on October 28, 1950 to Chester “Chet” and Astri (Sevland) Iverson in Sacramento, CA.
In 1962, the Iverson family moved to Grand Forks, ND where Wayne attended high school, graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology from the University of North Dakota in 1972, and met Vickie Hazard of Cooperstown, ND. They married in 1973 and welcomed two children.
Wayne began his career in the oil industry as a landman in western ND. He then worked as a geophysicist in Dallas and Midland, TX; Oklahoma City, OK; and Billings, MT from 1974-1986. After the oil bust in the mid-80s, Wayne moved his family to ND, reinventing himself several times over the course of his life as a stay-at-home dad, a Ben Franklin store owner, and an operations manager for various manufacturing companies. In 2009, he married Pam Lundeen of Cooperstown, ND. He loved riding his motorcycle and camping in Sturgis, SD with friends. He never lost his love of geology and shared his rock collection with his grandchildren and great-niece. Wayne’s witty sense of humor, charming trickster nature, and rascally sparkle in his blue eyes brought smiles to those who knew him.
Wayne is survived by his wife, Pam Lundeen; sister, Landa Iverson; daughter, Emily (Eric) Parsons; son, Eric Iverson (Michael Schweitzer); niece, Sarah (Daniel Thiesmeyer) Iverson; three grandchildren; and great-niece. Wayne is preceded in death by his parents, Chet and Astri Iverson.
A celebration of life event will be planned later in 2026. Donations can be made to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research at michaeljfox.org.
