Todd Bogardus

   Todd Cameron Bogardus, 63, West Fargo, passed away peacefully in his home on Wednesday February 5, 2025.

   Todd was born on Sunday July 9, 1961 in Britton, SD. He was raised in West Fargo by his father, Byron “Cameron” Bogardus and mother Georgia (Erickson) Bogardus alongside his siblings. He attended and graduated from West Fargo High School in 1980. Following high school, he attended Job Corp in Utah and Detroit Lakes Technical College for auto body repair. He also obtained his CDL, thereafter. While attending college, he met the love of his life, Elaine Cruz. Their marriage of 38 years began on July 11, 1986. Six years later, he became a wonderful father to twin daughters. They resided in the Fargo and West Fargo area.

   Todd had many passions. He particularly enjoyed being a self-proclaimed mechanic and loved vehicles. His passion for driving and making small repairs on cars or helping others with car repair advice was a joy of his life. His favorite story to tell was when he was a teenager and his dad helped him build an engine before he was allowed to drive. Due to his enthusiasm for vehicles, he collected many tools of all sorts and loved to complete many small projects from working on lawnmowers to small motors. He also loved listening to talk radio and loved a wide range of music. He would naturally call himself an “eclectic” listener. Todd also loved to laugh and make others laugh with his witty “dad” jokes. He loved his family greatly and was adamant about saying “I love you” to those around him.

   Todd is survived by his loving wife Elaine, two beloved daughters Samantha Bogardus, West Fargo, ND; and Sara (Jason) Alferness, Fargo, ND; brother Perry (Liz) Bogardus, Fargo, ND; sister Vandi (Bob) Snyder, West Fargo, ND; brother-in-law David (Ella) Cruz, Casselton, ND; and many nieces, nephews, and grandchildren.

   Todd is preceded in death by his parents Byron “Cameron” Bogardus and Georgia Jean (Erickson) Bogardus, in-laws Pascal Cruz and Anita Cruz, sister-in-law Bernadette Cruz, great nieces and nephew Maecy Snyder, Kinley Snyder, and Joseph Snyder.

   Funeral Service: Saturday, February 8, 2025, at 2:00 p.m., in West Funeral Home, West Fargo, with visitation one hour prior to the service.

   Interment: Holy Cross Cemetery - North, Fargo, North Dakota.
