Tim Streifel

Timothy Harold Streifel, age 65, West Fargo, ND passed away at Moorhead Rehabilitation Healthcare Center on Friday, 11/12/2021.

Timothy was born on December 23rd,1955 in Devils Lake, ND to Harold and Vivian Streifel.

Tim was a very hard-working construction worker until 1993.  In 1993, he turned to being a free spirit who had many awesome adventures and depended on the kindness of strangers and numerous friendships he made along the way. My brother was a very giving and caring man who never expected much financially or needed to have material possessions. My brother would give you whatever you needed even though he needed it more. I bought him numerous winter coats, hats, gloves and boots but when I would talk to him, I found he had given them to someone who needed them more.

One store owner in Montana in Kalispell told me a story about how she met him and continued her friendship throughout all his years. He stood outside the business right before Christmas and had collected $350.00 in cash. He went inside and asked if he could stay inside and ask each parent with children if he could buy them any toy they picked out in the store and he would pay for their purchase. She told me that he spent every cent he had collected on the kids and nothing for himself. She was very proud of the new friend she had just made. Over the years many businesses befriended my brother by getting him shelter, food and basic needs by making him an employee and managing him financially.

He was living across the hallway from a lady who had terminal cancer in his apartment complex, and I bought him some fall hoodies he needed. He immediately thought he should give her one because he knew that she got cold when she went outside.

My brother Tim was a very giving and caring person always thinking of someone else's needs before his own. He is a very hard act to follow in that respect. I admired him for being that way. I am very proud that he was my brother who instead of calling me Darnel, always called me TRIGGER all my life because I liked horses. I miss and love him with all my heart and soul, which was the last thing I said to him every day he was in the nursing home.

Timothy is survived by his siblings Darnel [David] Kartes West Fargo, ND, Duane Streifel Moorhead, MN and Cindy Munn [Dan Ramsey] Grand Forks, ND. Nieces and nephews Teri, Tracy [Aaron], Joseph [Daylin], James, Amanda [Ryan], Nancy. Great nieces and nephews Catherine, Michael, Connor, Noah, Mischa, Mila, Ella and Jennifer; and grandnephew Brayden.

He was preceded in death by his parents Harold and Vivian Streifel.

Funeral Service:  10 am Saturday, November 20, 2021, in West Funeral Home Chapel, West Fargo, with Visitation held one hour prior to his service.  Rev. Msgr Joseph Goering of St. Mary's Cathedral, Fargo, will officiate.

Interment:   Springvale Cemetery, Fargo, ND
